The towering figure among Cuba's prisoners of conscience, medical doctor Oscar Elias Biscet, has denounced the Castro regime as "murderous dictatorship" from his prison cell
Recognized and honored by human rights organizations around the world, Biscet, who is serving a 25 year sentence for "disrespect" spoke out on behalf of fellow prisoner of conscience Orlando Zapata Tamayo who died last week while on hunger strike.
The man, said Biscet, is an inspiration. a hero.
With his "magnanimous act," with his hunger strike for his human rights that culminated with his death, Zapata proved himself an inspiration and one of Cuba's great heroes, Biscet declared.
Zapata's death, his murder, said Biscet, is the responsibility of the Castro dictatorship. They have added to their crime by spreading lies about Zapata after his death.
"The government of Raúl Castro showed all its hatred, its racial discrimination and its tortures until the death," Biscet said. "The death was just extrajudicial murder."
"I must repeat to the Castro brothers with exclamation points: Murderers! Murderers! Murders!"
