Havana-
The crackdown on a protest march featuring the Ladies in White, on the streets of Havana on the occasion World Day of Human Rights was ed by Cuban state security.

Despite this Cuban Television and The Worker newspaper alleged that the attacks were spontaneous acts.

Pity that did not expose the truth of what happened on 9 and 10 December. What has it has become clear is
that the people are disgusted  with the political, economic and social situation, and embrace the Ladies in White/ Damas de Blanco movement.
The demands of freedom were met by
a thirsty mob of hate, mobilized to meet by paramilitaries.

The women who won the  Sakharov Prize for
human rights  in 2005  were attacked with verbal insults and physical aggression. This journalist to defend freedom of expression was aso beaten.

The video broadcast on TV of the events showed no repression and violence against defenseless women.

But what the Castro regime supressed, the international community observed via the images taken by the International Press who covered the events.

The official media in Cuba is complicit in human rights violations incurred by the communist regime. In fact the official press and political police are linked.

There is a covenant of the official newspapers with  the oppression suffered by the Cuban people under an undemocratic government.

Reported from Havana, journalist Carlos Serpa Maceira, the Union of Free Journalists of Cuba and correspondent on the island of Cuba's Miscellany.
